Work Completed at Utile, Inc.

The Laneway is a 24-unit multi-family project in Boston’s Mission Hill Neighborhood. The design was made possible by a reconfiguration of neighboring parcel boundaries to accommodate a new building and create a European-style mews with second storefronts for businesses in the adjacent buildings.

The building features elegant custom brick and precast details in the facade, inspired by the historic masonry in the surrounding neighborhood. The units, a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, are efficiently arranged in a point-loaded plan. It is one of the first buildings constructed using the City of Boston’s Compact Living Pilot. While compact, the unit interiors feel spacious with large windows, high ceilings, sleek custom millwork, and warm wood floors.

The building amenity spaces, which open onto the intra-block park, include a well-appointed living room with a terra-cotta tiled fireplace, chef’s kitchen, library, fitness area, and management office.
